Dakota Sands' sire and dam are listed as (Appaloosa x unknown) by ApHC records. Dakota Sands was originally registered as T1784 which becomes important in a few sentences. Others think Dakota Sands is sired by Snow Cloud II out of an Iron Clad mare. Still others have indicated a connection to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. This is likely because Wayne Hayes registered the dun mare Dakota Dust as T1785. Again he probably sent in the two registrations at the same time. Dakota Dust is listed as sired by Pine Ridge Indian Appaloosa out of an unknown mare. Her sire is not listed as Snow Cloud II. Snow Cloud II has a very upright shoulder, she has a laid back shoulder.
