|One new poster asked how to handle posting on this site and I thought I would put up these instructions for all new folks with the same question.
|when i click on post new message and it brings up screen on subject etc what do i do from there? |
When you reply to a message or start a new message, you will be taken to an editing/posting screen. If you are replying to an existing message, you do not need to change the subject, your post will be made with the original poster's subject, which is best. When you make your own new subject, type in a subject [like, "What do I do about my Nutso Mare????] Then type the text of your post in the big box below. Click submit, and you will see how it posts. Click preview, and you can see how it looks first, but once you have it correct don't forget to click submit.
You can enhance your text with italics, bold, colored text, quotes of other posts, linkable URL address, and images, by using the "tags" just above the typing text box. If your cursor is in the big text box, click on a tag once to precede the text you want affected, then a second time after that text. What ever is contained between the tags will be affected by the tag's command. For example, if I want to bold text, such as this text is bolded, I clicked the bold "B" typed my text then clicked the bold b again. Same instructions for italic, or any other of the tags.
If you want to go back and format text which is already typed, go back and HIGHLIGHT that text (you have to know how to hightlight), click the tag and it will surround the highlighted text with the tags.
The other post I sent you addresses inserting pictures in your posts.
