AKA the Honywood Arabian; AKA (Sir John) Williams Turk.
Owned by Sir Philip Honywood (1677-1752) of Marks Hall, Essex, an army officer who attained the rank of major-general with a regiment called Honywoods Dragoons (now the 11th Hussars), appointed governor of Portsmouth in 1740. Sir Philip kept a small racing stable from the turn of the 18th century to around 1730. Honeywoods Arabian sired True Blue (gr c 1710), winner of the York Royal Plate in 1716, and Young True Blue (gr c 1718), winner of the same in 1724. He also sired two unnamed grey sisters to True Blue, one of whom was a foundation mare of Family 3.
