All of them recognized members of the World Breeding Federation for sport horses. Calando VI is an holsteiner, by the famous Cor de La Bryère, the origin of one of the most successful lines of the sporting history. Calando VI is a full-brother of the entire Calando dynasty (I-VI), considered as one of the most important lines in the development of the Holsteiner horses. Calando I was the champion of Germany under Karsten Huck’s saddle and is the base of one of the most important mother lines today. Calando II was sold to Switzerland where he produced over than 800 foals, Calando III was one of the most important improvers of the KWPN stud book, Calando IV was a Holsteiner Stallion with successful progeny in sport, Calando V was a successful sporthorse with Breeding Value of 112.78% by the FN. Calando VI is one of the last sons of Cor de La Bryère still in activity. . His mother, Furgund had 18 foals of Cor de la Bryère. Her origins Colombo (x Cottage Son) and Asaka are also very important worldwide. Calando VI began his international career in 1997 in the CSIO Helsinky with Thomas Voss and achieved several classifications in national and international competitions on the big classes, Grand Prix and Nation Cups. He gathered several important classifications including a 3rd place in the Helsinki Grand Prix, 2nd place at Bahrendorf, 2nd and 3rd places at the Hamburg nations cups, 1st place at Ypaja amongst several other classifications. While in Germany he achieved 29 placings in S classes including three 2nd places and four 3rd places. He also has 9 placings in MB classes, 14 in MA and 4 in L. After a short passage in Spain the horse was sold to Portugal where he participated in several CSI, CSIO, CSI-J and CSIO-J across Europe gathering 40 classifications including a win at the Portuguese Junior Cup and a participation at the European Championships for Juniors. He retired, aged 19 under the saddle of José Diogo Carvalho at the CSI**** Porto 2008
