AKA Morgan Tiger, AKA Whyleys Morgan Tiger, Bay, near side hind foot white, 1050 lbs, foaled c1856, Middlesex, VT, owned & shown as a bitless driving team horse with Morgan Star and Maseppa by Prof. Andrew H. Rockwell, Broome County, NY. Died 1876, New Bolton, IL. Rockwell published a book on his training system, The Improved and Practical System of Educating the Horse, F.B. Fisher, Printer, New York, 1877. While aboard the steamer S.S. Pacific, enroute to another performance Morgan Tiger, along with Morgan Star and Mazeppa was lost at sea on November 5, 1875 near the mouth of the Strait of Juan de Fuca between Vancouver Island and the Olympic Peninsula. Per the NOAA, this appears to make the most sense, as many of the bodies and debris were found in the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
