MESAOUD H, ARABIAN, 1887 Color: ch Height: 14.2h GSB Bred By Ali Pasha Sherif in Egypt. Acquired by Wilfrid and Lady Anne Blunt for their Sheykh Obeyd Stud in Egypt, but sent to their Crabbet Park Stud in England in 1891, where he was registered in the Arabian section of Weatherbys General Stud Book. Sold to Count Branicki in 1903 and sent to Bialocerkiew stud in Kyiv, Ukraine. Sire of ninety-seven registered purebred Arabian foals; no record is known to exist of him having sired any foals at Bialocerkiew, although he sired at least one - Ibn Mesaoud (x Saada) - before leaving Egypt. One of the foundation sires of the Crabbet Arabian Stud. Most all Egyptian pedigrees contain some measure of Mesaoud blood. A very fine mover, fast walker and trotter.
