The WSU Livestock Division had been working on a program. This envisaged buying older thoroughbred horses to make available to the public. That's how the Thoroughbred racehorse Piccolo came to Pullman. Lester Brown brought his mare , Kamiak Trixie , to town for at least 3 different years for Piccolo's services.
