Ipana Maid, the first ApHC-bronze-plaque-award-winning broodmare, was bred and raised by the late Walter Anderson of Turpin, Oklahoma. Foaled in 1961, she earned $8,300 and two wins as a racehorse before retiring as a broodmare. In the venture, she was very successful, producing such champions as: Zepan Bull, winner of the World Wide Futurity; Devish maid, World Wide Futurity champion and earner of more than $40,000; and Ipans Girl, winner of the Califonia Derby. She also produced Baffle Made and Ipana Update and was a full sister to Doctor Judge, the 1963 WorldWide Derby Champion. Ipana Maid passed away in 1989.
