Little Navajo Joe started his show career as a 2-year-old, prior to the national points system. He collected wins in halter, western pleasure, reining and horsemanship.
In 1965, he earned the reserve high-point performance horse title behind renowned stallion Tem Pop. Little Navajo Joe made one official race start, winning the 350-yard sprint and collecting a lifetime total of $50. The Greater Eastern Appaloosa Regional (GEAR) named Little Navajo Joe Premier Sire No. 3 in 1969;
