(Gandhy x Egina) 1949 bay stallion
bred by the Yeguada Militar, Spain
tail female to Selimieh.
Bred by the YM, he was Gandhy’s most influential son. Like several great stallions before him, he was not appreciated at the National Stud. Only after he had proven himself at Ybarra’s and Osuna’s was he used to service any of the YM’s mares. There he sired only three purebred get; all daughters; Cantinera II (x Ural) bay 1961, Dacia (x Ural) bay 1962, and Comedia II (x Ociosa) grey 1961, all in the last two years of his life. His lifetime get total only eight sons, only three of whom bred on: Zurich (x Extranjera) grey 1956, and *Corinto (x Undina II) grey 1959, both of whom had major impact upon the modern Spanish family, and Caruso II (x Uzaina) bay 1961. \\\\Malvito’s daughters often had exquisitely beautiful heads, which was especially true in the case of the Osuna-bred *Agata III (x Famula) and Arilla (x Kanya), dam of Finta, Meharilla, Latino, *Nilo, *Rastano, and *Uranio. Malvito’s daughters were known as excellent producers. *Alderbaran II (x Holconera) achieved the greatest fame for her son *Barich de Washoe. Other noteworthy daughters were Abisinia II (x Somalia) chestnut 1957 who was the dam of El Jautor, Bizancio II (x Undina II) grey 1958 who produced Mizar, Corteza (x Ganga) 1959, who produced Aram. Dacia and Egipcia (dam of Zorba) Cantinera II (x Ural), and Comedia III (x Ociosa) were all important in the YM’s yeguada. Few Spanish stallions have proven their pre-potency as admirably as Malvito. He died in 1962
25% Old English (20.3125% Crabbet).
