Fine disposition, tough and hardy, game, good action and fine carriage, fine arched neck, fine ear, wide between the eyes, nice straight head. A close-compacted, very intelligent horse. Pedigree in Wallaces American Stud-Book [1867], vI, p932, says: Bred by Henry H. Berry, of Pompton Plains, Morris Co., NJ, who ran him quarter and half mile races till he was five years old, without ever being beaten. For the most of his life he was owned by Mr. Seely, of Orange Co., NY, where he died in 1861. Among his get there were many trotters.
