| Possibly traces back to an unnamed black colt that was imported into England. The colt’s sire was a Flemish stallion. The colt’s dam was a local mare.
Breeder: Mr. Thomas Clarkson, Shotts Hill Mill parish, Carstairs, Lanarkshire..
In 1808, Mr Somerville of Lampit farm, (parish Carnwath) bought the mare. She is the dam of Thompsons Black Horse which is also known as Glancer.
