Fiery, elegant, courageous & speedy Captured 1688 from a Turkish officer during seige of Buda (Hungary) by Col. Robert Byerley of the 6th Dragoon Guards under King Wm. III of Orange (Holland;Ref-Widipedia: Reigned 1689-1702 as King of England, Scotland & Ireland) In Battle of the Boyne (Ireland), 7-12-1690, served as Byerley's war horse I: England 1690. At stud until 1701. Died 1706 (remains possibly buried on Byerley's estate in Yorkshire) 1 of the 3 Arab stallions who founded the Thoroughbred breed. The other 2 were the Darley Arabian, foaled 1700, I: England 1704 and the Godolphin Arabian, foaled c.1724, I: England 1729
