The General Stud Book, 1834, p.522 (OCTAVIAN - Pedigrees of some horses whose dams will not be found as brood mares in any of the preceding lists); a little help some times later: The General Stud Book, 1891, Vol.1-2, p.171 (RANTHOS MARE, sister to Sharper - *179-by OBERON, bred by Mr. Peverell). In several Stud Books you can find Sister to Sharper as dam of STRIDE MARE ( The Engraver's dam/*1807), also OBERON MARE (*1803, POPE's dam) and (*1802) all bred by Mr. Peverell, but no foals by STRIPLING, mysterios. The OBERON MARE is only find as OCTAVIAN'S DAM in Racing Calendar; So for 1813 (= ch. filly, by STRIMPLING, entry for Speepstakes 1816). But she was sold to Germany in 1816, covered by PRIME MINISTER. Bought by Graf Plessen-Ivenack, Mecklenburg-Vorpommen and owend her till 1828; Allgemeines Gestüt-Buch, 1847, Vol.1, p.394 (OCTAVIA);
