Strain: Saqlawiyah Sudan Pyramid Society: Straight Egyptian Sheykh Obeyd Foundation Al Khamsa: A Pre-Registration Horse Ancestral Elements, EGYPT I: 100% 12-14-1896 purchased by Wilfrid & Lady Anne Blunt - Sheykh Obeyd Stud-Egypt Imported to their Crabbet Stud-Sussex, England in May, 1897 Soon after arrival she fell while trying to jump a ditch. Left foreleg and shoulder were badly broken. She was in foal so it was decided not to destroy her and to try and save the foal. Thereafter she was known as the broken-legged mare. Dam of 7 registered purebred Arabian foals: 1 in Egypt 1896 and 6 in England 1899-1906 Also dam of 1 unnamed and unregistered filly 4-1898 (by MESAOUD 1887) who died as a yearling Also dam of 1 unnamed and unregistered colt 1904 (by NEJRAN 1891) who died at 7 months.
