Bred by John P. & Gayla Mayhew,Beaverton, Oregon. Sire of eighty-two registered purebred Arabian foals, and twenty-seven registered part-Arabian foals. Died July 4, 1993(complications of tooth surgery). Second stallion to receive the Supreme Legion of Merit. He was the only black stallion to receive this honor.
Excerpts from January 1981 Arabian Horse World - The First Ten Legion of Supreme Merit Stallions: He carried himself with an air of pride borderlined on arrogance. By the age of four months he had traveled over 4,000 miles and won five Blues and a Junior Championship. By age four qualified for Nationals in Halter, English, Western and Native Costume. Between 1969 and 1975 he won four Top Ten Awards and received his Legion of Merit. 1976/1977 he and trainer Don MacBean won Champion Stallion in Canada (open) and Top Ten English Pleasure; Three more Class A Champships and three Reserves; Region III Top Five Stallion; Region IV Champion Stallion; Pacific Slope Top Five Stallion; Top Ten Stallion at the Canadian Nationals.
