AKA PORTMORE'S OTHELLO, or OTHELLO. Imported by Governor Sharp about 1755. Died c1767. One of the best early importations. Pedigree in Wallaces American Stud-Book [1867], vI, p. 286, says: Foaled 1743; got by Crab; dam Miss Slammerkin, by Young True Blue; g.d. by Lord Oxfords dun Arabian; out of the DArcy Black-legged Royal mare.
