Last foal out of Jenny, she died after his birth & was orphaned. Match raced in South Texas & Arizona, outran Yellow Jacket in 1911 on O. G. Parke race track near Kyle, TX. Named by Shely brothers as King, then switched to Possum by Jim Kennedy. Thought to be as most similar to his sire, Traveler, & fast runner.
Didn’t run again after pulling his left foreleg, so retired to be used as stud. When changed hands for last time & being moved to new ranch, he got separated from herd & instead of losing them was allowed to stay w/ band of mares, spent 3 months alone before tried to collect him back, then died but had bred his last foal crop.
