Bred by Mr. Edward Leedes Cream Cheeks is dam of Betty Leedes, dam of Flying Childers (Champion Sire 1730 and 1736) and Bartlet's Childers (Champion Sire 1742), through which branch 6-a of the family descends. mtDNA evidence has shown she is not related to her supposed sister Betty Percival, so Cream Cheeks cannot be a descendant of Old Bald Peg, Family 6 Foundation Mare. Her descendants have a different haplotype from any horse so far DNA tested. The DNA evidence is supported by the stud book of Cuthbert Routh which says Cream Cheeks is out of a famous roan mare of Sr. [Sir] Mar. [Marmaduke] Wyvill's. Routh and Wyvill's studs were less than 10 miles apart so Routh's pedigree is likely to be correct. The DNA result means that, unless Charming Jenny was the same horse as Wyvill's Roan Mare and also Betty Percival was not out of Charming Jenny, which is possible but unlikely, all of Cream Cheeks's descendants should be removed from Family 6, including Flying Childers, Bartlet's Childers, Sorcerer and Priam.
