Bonnie Joe was foaled in 1924, and was a bay stallion by Little Joe and out of Genevieve. He was bred by Ott Adams of Alice TX. Later owned by Joe Bridge, O.W. Cardwell, Dr. Fred Rose, Raymond Dickson and Hal Mangum. Raymond Dickson got the horse from Dr. Rose and named him after the doctor. Ott Adams said he was orginally named him Bonnie J.'
