AMHA #06276
Liver chestnut, star & strip, snip, rh fetlock white.
Foaled 3/15/1944, Arroyo Grande, CA. Bred by Miss Sid Forsyth.
She finished 4th in the 180-210 lbs. carried wt. div. of the 1948 Redlands 40 Mile Ride. The judges were 2 cavalry officers from Kellogg Remount Station and a physcian. They checked horses all along the way. All were okay. This info is from p. 75 of the June 1948 issue of The Morgan Horse. Please note that you can read 1941-1965 issues by Googling, for example, June 1948 the Morgan Horse. Miss Sid Forsyth was a regular, no-frills working cattle rancher. Gypsy Maid was well bred in all lines of her pedigree. Antman (poor name I've always thought) was half Arabian and a serious working cowhorse. Montcrest Sellman and Sonna were from the Sellman Ranch in Texas---one of the biggest, and best Morgan producers of its time. Pongee Morgan was bred by the Brunks near Springfield, Illinois who produced many terrific Morgans over many decades.
