Winner of the Hambletonian 1947, Sire of 4 Hambletonian winners, stood at Hanover Shoe Farm, PA. t,2:00 1959 Foaled in 1944, Hoot Mon was by Scotland out of the unraced broodmare Missey. He was bred by Charles W. Phellis and developed by Fred Egan. Early in his 2YO form, he was sold by Phellis for $50,000. Racing in the colors of Mrs. Frederick L. Van Lennep, he won $74,950 as a 2 $ 3YO Included in his long list of stake victories are The Hambletonian and Kentucky Futurity. He was purchased in the late spring of 1948 by Hanover Shoe Farm, spending his entire stud career at the Pennsylvania nursery. Hoot Mon is known as the Hambletonian Sire, having produced four Hambletonian winners: Helicopter, Scott Frost, Blaze Hanover and A Cs Viking. His daughter Arpege foal was Ayres, who won the 1964 Hambletonian. Hoot Mon died of heart failure August 2, 1965 at Hanover.
