Breeder/Owner: Mr. Littleton Richards (VA) May 1822: Won 2nd & 3rd of three 2-mile heats October 1823: Won 1st & 2nd of 4-mile heats; won New Market 4-mi match over his sister BETSEY RICHARDS. Oct 1825 lost Tree Hill 4-mi match to BETSEY ROBINSON. One of the Southern choices for the Great Match Race of 1823 against American Eclipse, along with his full sister Betsey Richards. In fact, this horse was William Johnston's top choice to run the match. However, he sustained a quarter crack the week before the race and was taken out of training. Returned to racing in the fall and was retired to stud in 1826 by Bela Badger of Bristol, PA. reportedly had a 30-foot stride
