AKA Lindsey`s Arabian; AKA Ranger. Presented by the Emperor of Morocco to the Captain of a British frigate, who carried him to the West Indies, where he was shipwrecked & injured, sold to American merchantmen, and ended up in Connecticut. General `Light Horse Harry` Lee (of George Washington`s army) sent a Captain Lindsey to Connecticut to purchase the stallion for 125 hogsheads of tobacco, equivalent to about $3,000. He was then sent to Virginia.
