By 1950 he was the dominant handicap horse in America, setting 3 world records and 3 track records. Champion older horse 1950. He became the archrival of Citation, whom he defeated 4 times. He also defeated Assault, becoming the first horse to defeat 2 Triple Crown winners. He also beat Derby champions Ponder and Hill Prince on the track. Retired in Dec. 1950 Hall of Fame in 2002 Entered stud in 1951 at Howard's Ridgewood Ranch, CA His TB get have won over $3 million on the track. He was a leading TB broodmare sire in 1966-1968. He lived to ripe old age of 29, passing away Nov. 16, 1974 at Loma Rica Ranch, Grass Valley CA. Buried in the infield training track. In Sept 2011, NOOR`s remains moved to Old Friends TB retirement in KY.
