According to the AMERICAN STUD BOOK (Vol.II, pg.566), Printer was stated to be by *Janus, but actually he was by a son of *Janus, Fleetwood. Printer was the most influential horse affecting the Quarter Horse breed after Sir Archy. He was foaled in Virginia, taken to Pennsylvania, & later died in Fairfax County, Ohio, in 1828. ref. for sire ATR May, 1830, back cover
