“Rifka broke a blood vessel during July 1906 — she was then standing in a loose box — no disease could be discovered and she appeared to be slowly recovering.
But one morning towards the end of the month she was found dead in her box having again had the same accident. A very beautiful mare and absolutely perfect
to ride — a great loss to the Stud.”
Rifka’s skull was presented to the Natural History Museum at New York 1909.
