Reserve Supreme Clifden 1985. Silver is start of the modern Kingstown ponies.This pony offspring have been successful in Clifden over 40 time so to say she left a legacy is an understatement.she was a legend of a pony.
When Erskine Childers became president of Ireland he thought it would be nice to have Connenamara Ponies on the grounds of Aras an Uachtarain .Among those was Fort Hazel who give birth to Silver Fort by Rory Ruadh.When the next President came the ponies were all sent to the Connemara National Park.It is there that Silver lived in the wild for a few years.
in 1985 she was dry and was shown in Clifden for the first time.That day she made a little history that is unlikely to be broken She ended up Reserve Champion of the show without winning her class.In the old mares class the judges couldn't decide between herself and Silver Sparrow and a referee judge had to be called. Sparrow got the nod.They were so close that in the Championship the judges placed them one and two again.
she produced some remarkable foals and won the foal class 4/5 years(87-91).
