n1919, Bought by Denis Aldridge at the Royal Welsh Show and went to live in Leicestershire,where he covered several Welsh mares..and others.

Born 1908. Purchased in Algeria as a three year old.
Bought to Gibraltar in 1913 by Mrs Betty,when he arrived with a load of ponies from Morocco, called Sahara due to his Sahara Desert Brand (Neckless of Double Spots).Shipped to England at the outbreak of War in 1914. Regularly played Polo.Hunted by Mrs Betty in Carmarthen & Breconshire, travelled at stud in Carmarthen & Brecon,eventually selling him at the 1919 Royal Welsh Show to Mr Denis Aldridge, it was then that Mrs Inge sent several of her Welsh Mares to Sahara, many were accepted into the Welsh Stud book.All his off springs are Grey. When Mr Aldridge gave up his stud he leased Sahara to Mrs Bolam in the New Forest, where he spent the rest of his life. This stallion was credited with the improvement of the Welsh breed.
