A desertbred stallion of the Saklawi Jidraniyah strain, he was purchased in Istanbul for 2,111.40 pesetas by the YM’s buying commission, and imported in 1905. He was described as being '15.1 hands tall, a very energetic, hot-blooded, powerfully muscled stallion.' His body and legs were described as being perfect, 'however, his head is not the most distinguished.' As the sire of Pescadilla (ex Yamila), chestnut mare 1900, he is found in some pedigrees of the horses bred by Del Cid. Tayeb was stationed at the 2nd Depot and died in 1916. A. K. S.
