Pedigree in Wallaces American Stud Book, vI, 1867. Wallace, in his American Stud Book, says Bertrand was as good in the stud as he was on the track. Several sons in VA, KY, SC,& PA scattered the blood of this popular stallion. He was owned at one time by Col. Wm. Buford of KY.
