Owned by John Wastell of Yorkshire, his history prior to this is unknown at present; he probably dates to the 1690s. He sired The Pet Mare owned by John Croft (from an (Old) Hautboy mare), who produced a number of foals for Croft, including Grey Woodcock (1720), Rake (1715), Young Greyhound (1718, sire), and an undated filly by Commoner who also produced a number of unnamed foals for Croft
