ANGELO XX
1967 to 1982, PTS: 1983
Approved sons :Angelo, Angriff, Anker, Anmarsch, Apart, Jurist and Angeli.
The handsomely shaped Angelo xx was of more than average size at a stick measure of 170 cm. and belonged to that category of thoroughbreds whose influence was frequently only apparent for one generation. He was oftentimes confronted by almost impossible tasks during his stud career as regards the mares that were brought to him. Angelo xx originally was a race horse with the reasonably high general equalisation handicap weight of 87 kilograms and began his second career in warm blood breeding in 1967 following his racing career. He had earlier been particularly honoured as the champion of the thoroughbred stallion show in Cologne. Amselsbiiren remained Angelo xx\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s one and only covering station during his 16 year covering period. His sire Oliveri xx was an Italian thoroughbred. The great-grandam Asterella xx is deemed to be the foundation mare of the family. The sires Aar xx (Warendorf state stallion), Aarking xx (private stallion Hanover and Denmark respectively, leased stallion Celle state stud) and Alex (Schwaiganger state stallion) are also close relatives. Herbert de Baey from Lemgo applied Angelo xx particularly successfully for many years. The mating combination of Angelo xx with the mare Dodona produced the Olympic horses Ahlerich 2/Dr. Reiner Klimke and his full-brother Amon/Annemarie Sanders-Keyzer. Their full-sisters Adone and Antine in turn became the breeding foundation for the multiple dressage champion Rembrandt and the stallion dynasties of Rubinstein I and II respectively, Royal Angelo I and II. The Angelo xx progeny were often said to be difficult. Riders that disposed over intuitive understanding however brought out the best in them, unlocking their predestination for the very highest of requirements in all disciplines. They were greatly sought after at the Westphalian elite auctions in Miinster-Handorf. Some of them were raised to become top class show jumpers in Switzerland. The offspring that put Angelo xx\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s name in the limelight in Germany include Angelino 6/Achim Tilger, Alvaro 8/Karsten Huck, Anamour 2/Rudolf Miiller and many more. Seven approved sons are vying to provide a broader basis for the paternal bloodline, three of them, the Warendorf stallions Anmarsch, Apart and Angriff, have become important for breeding. Anmarsch became inter alia, sire of the magnificent show jumper Anatol 30/Hendrik Snoek, whilst Apart can be found in numerous good performance bloodlines. Angelo xx covered in Belgium, Jurist in the Netherlands and Anker at the Zweibriicken state stud.
