Better known under his sport names Crown Royal Artos Z and later Loro Piana Artos Z regularly jumped himself in the prizes under his American rider Mark Leone. He was, for example, fourth in the 1994 World Cup finals in Göteborg, winner of the Grand Prix in Toronto and Washington, but in this short text we can not possibly list all his Grand Prix and World Cup victories and placings. Worth mentioning is that Artos Z was immediately awarded the title of Horse of the Year in the U.S.A. His exceptionally good performance made Artos Z the second most successful horse for Studfarm Zangersheide in the rankings of the World Breeding Guide. In this ranking of the impressive list of horses bred at Zangersheide Artos Z comes second only to the legendary Ratina Z. Glorita Z, dam of Artos Z, is a full sister to Goldine Z, dam of the stallion Aerobic Z, who was sold at the PSI Sales at the record amount of DM 650,000 and in 1992 jumped the Barcelona Olympics under Harold Chopping. The basis of all this jumping power available in this son of Almé Z is built on a dash of the best Gotthard blood through Glorita Z, but also and specifically through great-grandam Libelle, who in the early days of the showjumping sport put down a remarkable performance in the heaviest events such as the Hamburg Derby. She has also been responsible for a number of top-class sport horses, such as Hamlet {I Love You}, Keaton (Eaton du Rezidal}, Atlanta D (Alexis Z} and Anika D (Alexis Z}. Artos Z has now returned to Belgium for two years. In the United States at present some fifty products of this grey stallion are making a name for themselves and their sire in the sport, most of them still in the young horse classes, but several also at Grand Prix level, such as Sledden, Above All and Crucial. The foals of Artos Z are all high-blooded, athletic horses with good bone work and exceptionally good movements.
