1965 and 1967 Tevis Cup winner 45.80078125% Crabbet Bred by Thomas R. Bowles, Live Oak, CA. Bezatal was the record-setting winner of the 1965 and 1967 Tevis Cup Endurance Rides. The photograph shows Bezatal's wonderfully balanced rider, the late horseman Ed Johnson. In both of those Tevis Cup Rides the pair came in first ahead of Razlind and his rider, the great Donna Fitzgerald. Later, with her partner, the legendary Witezarif, a half-brother of Razlind, Fitzgerald won a total of six Tevis Cups and numerous other events. Bezatal and Johnson also won a number of other endurance contests. Bezatal and Witezarif set the standard for subsequent endurance aspirants.
