John Morgan in the 1846-Cultivator stated that this mare was of Wildair breeding. Thick, heavy horse, middling size, thick mane & tail, heavy chest, long feathering on legs; a smooth, handsome traveler.
Foaled East Hartford, CT.
Thoroughbreds did not have heavy feathering on their legs, and since registered TBs could have their dams traced, it is unlikely that Diamond was
a registered, pure TB.
