Feike 395 has died at the age of 23 Studbook stallion Feike 395 passed away in the USA last week. Feike 395´s career developed in a rather unusual way. Born in 1993 in Boyl at the yard of the Oosterkamp family, he was moved to the USA in 2000 where he was approved in 2001 (the 14th stallion that year!) at the age of eight. He was the last stallion to be approved in the USA on the basis of an exception to the Stallion Inspection Regulations. The exception involved the completion of a three-week Performance Test and a restricted breeding licence which was only valid in North America. During the three-week period of the Central Examination he was trained by Susan Bouwman, who was a member of the KFPS rider team which was also engaged in the Central Examination in the Netherlands. During performance testing Feike 395 mainly impressed in the riding horse discipline which later, in 2011, earned him the Sport predicate. Since his arrival in the USA Feike 395 has been owned by Annette Coester´s Royal Carousel Friesians in the state of Utah.
