Foolish Pleasure is most remembered for the fateful match race between champion filly, Ruffian, in which she fatally broke down during the race. Foolish Pleasure was euthanized in Nov. 1994 after rupturing his stomach due to the medications he had been receiving for his severe case of laminitis in all four feet. Buried at Horseshoe Ranch in Dayton, WY, where he spent his final years at stud. Elected into the Hall of Fame in 1995.
