The roaring audience loved Fuego XII, the Pura Raza Espanola (PRE) Stallion from Spain and his rider Juan Manuel Munoz Diaz at 2010 World Equestrian Games in Kentucky, USA.
Although he placed fifth he won crowd Gold in the musical freestyle,
The thirteen year old stallion by Utrerano VII X Elgido represents the culmination of the development of the Spanish breeding program which represents the classical qualities of everything anyone would want in a dressage horse.
Fuego XII, ridden by Juan Manuel Muñoz Diaz, competed in the U.S. with some of the most prestigious horses and riders in the world, including Edward Gal riding Totilas and Isabel Werth.
Fuego XII entered the arena performing a piaffe as only he knows how to do while classcal Spanish music set the mood. The crowds roaring began as he floatd in a very expressive extended trot as he began to hold his ground among the world’s best. His gaits were fluid and showed the freedom of movement his rider allowed. Musical swells of Theme from a Summer Place gave background to his tempi changes, when Munoz Diaz dropped his one gloved hand as they passed the stands the pair rocked the house, twice. Throughout the performance the crowd cheered with their approval for the beautifully balanced movements of the pair.
Cheers changed to boo and surprised disapproval by the audience at the score. Even with some judges awarding several 8s and some 9s they placed fifth with the final score of 81.45%.
Fuego XII won World acclaim and became 'King of Hearts' at the 2010 WEG, Kentucky, U.S.A.
