R.Hind Coronet/L.Hind Pastern/Coon Tail AQHA Race SI-95/AAA/ROM Bred by J. Rukin Jelks, Tucson, AZ, and foaled in IA Park, TX. John Red ran 12.6 seconds at 200 yards as was AA (some argue AAA) rated. He started his racing career as a match racer in the OK and TX panhandles and moved to SD when Clarence Bearry purchased the stallion. Known for being nearly earless due to frostbite when in the TX Panhandle, Red Man sired AAA stakes winners but the majority of his get were used primarily as top winning rope horses. His get were tall (15.2-15.3) horses for the times and known for nice heads and excellent dispositions.
