First known as Kate Morgan, this fine Morgan mare was bred in Decatur Co. IA by Mr. Kellogg and taken across the plains to Rogue River Valley, Oregon in 1854 by John McDaniel and sold to James McDonough, Willow Springs, OR. She was used in a 6 horse team hauling freight over the Siskiyou Summit to Red Bluff, Ca, and also to Crescent City, and when the hauling season was done she was used to plow the fields and haul heavy loads of cord wood.
