Persian Gulf is a half brother to Precipitation who was the sire of the great stallion Furioso, a foundation sire of jumpers in France and now an important ancestor of a great number of the leading jumpers and dressage horses in the world. Persian Gulf is also the grandsire of the Thoroughbred stallion Marlon whose influence in the Holsteiner breed in Germany has been of great significance. Persian Gulf is also a stallion of great importance in the breeding of show jumpers in South Africa, present in the pedigrees of horses such as Big Len (M. Harding, RSA) who now competes in the United States. Much of the success of Persian Gulf in South Africa is through his son Persian Wonder who was a major sire of show jumpers, as well stallions and mares who produced major winners.
