Reference - Al Khamsa: (Listed under SIGLAVI 1810 s gr) Imported in 1814 by Prince Schwarzenberg for his stud in Murau in the Steiermark, Austria. Sold in 1816 to the Arar [the Crown] and used in the Court Studs of Koptschan and Lippiza. In Lippiza he founded the still existing Siglavi male famiy within the Lippizan breed. Since he covered a few Arabian mares he was able to establish his own line within this breed as well. He achieved great significance for the construction of the breeding of Weil through his daughter Sady III 1821, dam of the exceptional stallion AMURATH 1829
Unreferenced: Of the seven Arabian stallions used (at Lippiza), only Siglavy founded a separate dynasty of Lipizzan horses. The Siglavys typify the Arab Lipizzaner with aristocratic heads, a slender neck, high withers and a relatively short back. Siglavy also founded a sire line in the Shagya breed and traces to modern times. Also used by Babolna (Stud - Hungary)
