(USA) 3,2:03¼m,$32,649 Breeder: Walnut Hall Farm. Foaled 1926,KY. Won 1928 Junior Kentucky Futurity. 4 winning heats in 18 starts. Won 1929 Charter Oak Stakes. As a yearling he was sold at auction for $5,800 to Thomas D. Taggert of Laurel Hall Farm. Little known fact: in 1930-Volomite won 1st place in the Standardbred Stallion Class at the National Horse Show at Madison Square Garden. His racing career with Walter Cox was short. After taking a record of 2:03¼ at the age of three, he was sold again to Dr. Ogden Edwards and returned to Walnut Hall. He was sold back to Walnut Hall Farm in 1929 for $13,500 at the Old Glory Sale. Volomite`s greatest fame was as a sire of extreme speed at either gait. He sired 28 2:00 horses, 198 in 2:05, and 586 Standard performers. His last three years were in retirement. He died on January 6, 1954 and is buried at Walnut Hall Farm, Lexington, KY
