Orcutt kept Artemisia until she was three years old, then sold her to A. Fullerton Phillips, of Windsor, VT. Phillips sold her to Kathleen T. Phillips of Bradford, VT who in turn sold her, along with daughter Agatha, to Judge William B. Sanders, Cleveland, OH for his Otishill farm in Woodstock, VT. At age 13, she was referred to the USGMHF by Mr. C. C. Stillman and in 1922, Artemisia came to rest at the USGMHF, Weybridge, VT. 11 of her thirteen foals were sired by Bennington, considered the Golden Cross including Mansfield 7255, Querido 7370, Ulysses 7565 and Canfield 7788. Would have been PLATINUM crosses if she had been crossed with General Gates 3 times instead of Bennington 5693. Breeder: Frank Orcutt, West Burke, VT Markings: large star, small snip; near hind foot white
