Glen Lamb told Palmer Wagner that Guy was not the breeder of Baby Patches and that Guy had Baby Patches from Nespelem. Nespelem was on the Colville Indian Reservation northwest of Hawk Creek Ranch. So Baby Patches was not related to Knobby as many had believed. They were both from old Indian stocks and both were Guys owned. Guy told that baby patcheswas a high-spirited horse, quick and sure of its feet. He said he liked chasing wild horses and could turn quickly, skilfully cutting them off, achieving great speed downhill.
