AKA Lails Tom Hal. Chestnut sabino roan, 4 high stockings, bald face, very heavy mane & tail, 15.3, 1100 lbs. Foaled 1837, Leesburg, Harrison County, KY. Bred by Higgins Chinn. Died 1866, Kentucky. Said to be `the greatest son of the old Canadian` (meaning the original Tom Hal, foaled 1802). First horse to draw attention to the running-walk. Although originally registered as a Saddlebred, and sire of about 2 dozen Saddlebreds, he was better known as an influence on the Tennessee Walking Horse breed.
