| Color: ch
(USA), sire died 1855
Source COLOR: National Live-stock Journal, June 1874, p.203 (BELLE OF BRISTOL) - no year of birth or age; owned ~1864 by A. Welch, Chestnut Hill Sud Farm, near Philadelphia; passed to Robert T. Steel, of Philadelphia; in June 1874 from him to Richard Penistan, Fayette County, Kentucky; Wallace's ATR, 1879, Vol.3, p.177 (DUKE OF LEXINGTON), says: her DAM by EXPEDITION, by Prizefighter - both Thoroughbreds; But cannot find a sire EXPEDITION by Prizefighter, only PRIZEFIGHTER by (imported) Expedition; I think it is a mistake/missunderstanding;
