WASB 1099: American Stud Book, Volume 1, p. 760, says this horse was foaled in Long Island, 1803, grey, and owned in New York. Bishop’s Hamiltonian was introduced about \[1821\] …, and was kept here \[Shoreham, VT.\] several years. His progeny were of a dark bay color, well formed; rather tall in proportion to weight of body; were good travelers, high spirited; among the best horses for the road, and were favorites in the market in their day. Much of the valuable stock in this town originated from him. HISTORY OF SHOREHAM, VERMONT. Better called BISHOP's HAMBLETONIAN! Hamiltonian is a very old writing.. Died 1833, Shoreham, VT.
