As a grandson of the Arabian Naseel he was never very popular with breeders mainly because of his short hindquarters which came with his Arabian ancestry. This undesirable quality can still be found in many of todays ponies descending from this line.
It was expected of custodians that they showed the Society stallions at the annual shows and while he was on the Society stallion list 1961-72 Clonjoy was shown four times but without success.
Pat Murphy was a short term custodian only standing Clonjoy from '67 to '69.
